DIY Tassel Bracelets

Tassels are super trendy this spring, and today I am going to show you how to make your own tassel bracelet! It is not only simple and easy, but also cheap. It took me about 20 minutes to make the first one, but only about 5 to make the others once I got the hang of it.

Here is what you are going to need:
A good pair of scissors (mine were not very sharp)
Pliers ( I got mine for $7 at hobby lobby)
Stretchy clear cord for the bracelet
Thin wire (I chose gold)
Beads (I found they were much cheaper at Hobby Lobby then Michaels)
Embroidery thread, each pack makes one bracelet
A card to wrap your thread around
Gold jewelry crimps

1. Cut off about 1 1/2 feet of the thread and fold it in half twice. Now cut off about 1-2 inches of the wire and make a small circle big enough for the thread to fit though and twist it off with your pliers. Now thread your folded thread though your circle and leave it in the middle, and set aside.

2. Take the rest of your thread and wrap it tightly around your cord and then cut at one end. Now tie the thread you set aside in the middle with your little metal circle on top.

3. Now hold down your threads to create the tassel, and then wrap some of the wire around it tightly and then twist off with your pliers. Take your sharp scissors and trim your tassel.

4. The hard part is over now, thread your beads onto your plastic cord, thread both sides of the cord though a crimp and then the tassel, see picture above, and then crimp them down with your pliers to keep your bracelet together.

Mixing Colors & Patterns

We all know by now that I am certainly not one to shy away from bright color, or a fun pattern, and mixing the two (when done well) is perfect for spring. I tend to gravitate towards organic, and floral prints in the spring, since spring is all about everything coming back to life. Don't get me wrong I still love geometric prints, I just don't wear them quite as much in the spring. Now ideally when choosing a color to mix with your pattern, you would want to choose one of the colors in the pattern that you want to bring out or draw attention to. But sadly we don't live in a perfect world, and sometimes you can't find a "match" and that's okay, instead of settling for a almost match, find a color that complements your pattern. I have linked some of my favorite spring patterned items bellow for a little inspiration. Also check out my friend, and amazing blogger, Caitlin's post on her favorite colors for spring here.

Pink Colony

dress: Lilly Pulitzer | jean jacket: similar | bag: Kate Spade (similar) | sandals: Jack Rogers
watch: Kate Spade | earring: Kate Spade | sunnies: Tory Burch

The pink and green is finally here, I was beginning to wonder if Lilly had completely converted to blue and white as their colors. But with their new spring shipments I am reassured, Lilly is still all about pink and green. This is one of my favorite dresses from the spring line, first off how adorable is the print? Second it's supper affordable (for Lilly that is) at only $98. Loving these new Jack Roger styles they have released this year, I can't decide which are my new favorite, but I definitely like my new Laurens. What are your favorite sandals for summer?

Spring Style Guide

Hello first day of spring, I have been looking forward to seeing you for quite some time now! I am kicking off the first official day of spring with my spring style guide, what I think every women should own to compete her spring wardrobe.

Sun dress// To me when I think spring, I think sundresses, and when I think sundress, I think Lilly Pulitzer . This yellow first impressions dress is one of my favorites from their spring collection.

Full Skirt// Skirts are a great alternative to a sundress so you can show off some of your cute flirty tops, I prefer fuller skirts over tight ones, but that is just my taste. I adore this lavender one from Jcrew.

Jean jacket // Jeans jackets are perfect for throwing over any outfit on a chilly evening.

Tunic// I am a big fan of tunic, first off I think they loop faltering on about everyone, and second they are so comfortable. I am eying this  Tory Burch tunic .

Gingham// I literally can't get enough of gingham, especially this button down from Jcrew they offer it in a variety of colors and has a great fit.

Boyfriend jean// I do not currently have a boyfriend jean but I desperately want a pair for spring, and I have my eye on these,

White jeans// White jeans are just a necessity of spring, you will get so much use out of them its crazy.

Tote// Spring is one of those seasons when your always on the go, and that calls for a big bag to fit everything into, and I just adore this Kate Spade scallop tote.

Sandals// Spring means time to break out the open toed shoes, these Jacks are my favorite everyday sandal, but I also think ever girl should own a great wedge.

Jewelry//  Spring is a time for bright, fun, and bold jewelry, I love these earring from Stella & Dot and keep your eyes out for a Stella & Dot post coming up soon.

Nails// I love getting me nails done as much as the next girl, and I also love all of these colors from the Essie spring collection.
