Blush is one of my favorite colors (period) for this spring/summer and I wanted to share a few of my favorites. I specifically and coveting the (7) saddles pictured above, main reason besides their obvious cuteness they fit my work dress code which is not as easy as I was hoping it would be. I have been dreaming of the YSL pink lingerie lipstick above, and finally splurged and purchase it as a little Easter present to myself, I cant wait to wear it! What blush items are you eying?

Mixing Colors & Patterns
We all know by now that I am certainly not one to shy away from bright color, or a fun pattern, and mixing the two (when done well) is perfect for spring. I tend to gravitate towards organic, and floral prints in the spring, since spring is all about everything coming back to life. Don't get me wrong I still love geometric prints, I just don't wear them quite as much in the spring. Now ideally when choosing a color to mix with your pattern, you would want to choose one of the colors in the pattern that you want to bring out or draw attention to. But sadly we don't live in a perfect world, and sometimes you can't find a "match" and that's okay, instead of settling for a almost match, find a color that complements your pattern. I have linked some of my favorite spring patterned items bellow for a little inspiration. Also check out my friend, and amazing blogger, Caitlin's post on her favorite colors for spring here.

Spring Style Guide
Hello first day of spring, I have been looking forward to seeing you for quite some time now! I am kicking off the first official day of spring with my spring style guide, what I think every women should own to compete her spring wardrobe.
Sun dress// To me when I think spring, I think sundresses, and when I think sundress, I think Lilly Pulitzer . This yellow first impressions dress is one of my favorites from their spring collection.
Full Skirt// Skirts are a great alternative to a sundress so you can show off some of your cute flirty tops, I prefer fuller skirts over tight ones, but that is just my taste. I adore this lavender one from Jcrew.
Jean jacket // Jeans jackets are perfect for throwing over any outfit on a chilly evening.
Tunic// I am a big fan of tunic, first off I think they loop faltering on about everyone, and second they are so comfortable. I am eying this Tory Burch tunic .
Gingham// I literally can't get enough of gingham, especially this button down from Jcrew they offer it in a variety of colors and has a great fit.
Boyfriend jean// I do not currently have a boyfriend jean but I desperately want a pair for spring, and I have my eye on these,
White jeans// White jeans are just a necessity of spring, you will get so much use out of them its crazy.
Tote// Spring is one of those seasons when your always on the go, and that calls for a big bag to fit everything into, and I just adore this Kate Spade scallop tote.
Sandals// Spring means time to break out the open toed shoes, these Jacks are my favorite everyday sandal, but I also think ever girl should own a great wedge.
Jewelry// Spring is a time for bright, fun, and bold jewelry, I love these earring from Stella & Dot and keep your eyes out for a Stella & Dot post coming up soon.
Nails// I love getting me nails done as much as the next girl, and I also love all of these colors from the Essie spring collection.

Winter Essentials
I am a little late on posting my winter essentials (sorry) but I figure always better late then never. I don't know about you, but here in NC we got hit by some very cold weather, so if are feeling unprepared for this cold winter ahead, here are my must haves.
1. Ear Muffs// I am a student, so walking to class in the cold can be unbearable at times. I never leave my apartment without ear muffs in my bag because I know my ears will thank me later. I favor ear muffs over a beanie hat for two reasons. A) I either look cute that day and don't want to mess up my hair by wearing a beanie or B) my hair is in a huge bun because I look like a hot mess, ear muffs work much better for my messy buns.
2.Gloves// This goes right up there with you never leave home without. You lose most of your body heat though your hands and feet so it is important to keep them covered and warm. I am obsessed with the Tory Burch leather bow gloves above, but I also favor texting gloves because lets be honest, were always on our phones.
3. Scarf// A scarf can even be more important then your coat for making a fashion statement during the winter. You might have the most adorable outfit under your coat but no one will ever know, so adding a great scarf still shows your style while staying warm.
4.Lotion// My hands get so dry during the winter, and I end up getting shocked every time I touch anything. I keep hand lotion on me at all times, keep that skin moisturized laddies.
5.Cords// Don't get me wrong I still wear my leggings in the winter, but for those supper cold days you need some cords. I like my corduroys to be skinny so I can wear them with boots. I find it is important to get a pair of corduroys that has just a little bit of spandex in them, it makes all the difference.
6. Sweaters// You can never have to many sweaters. Now that winter is in full swing I break out my heavy bulky sweaters like the gray turtleneck above. I also find it important to own at least one fun print sweater like the J.Crew one above, they make such a statment.
7.Flannel// I love a great plaid flannel button down. My favorite is the one from L.L.Bean that I have linked above, I find myself wearing it all the time and want one in every color.
8.Coats// So if you haven't notices the trend already, my two favorite coats are from J.Crew. I have the pea coat in navy, but now looking back I wish I had gotten a fun color like the coral one above. I also think every women needs a dress length winter coat, I love the detachable fur collar on the coat I choose above, because it can be casual but also dressed up.
9.Boots// Bean boots have quickly become winters signature footwear, but sadly most sizes are on back order. I honestly favor the hunter boots I think it is a more feminine look and they come in so many fun colors, I chose coral hunters to match the pea coat from J.Crew.
10.Starbucks// It just isn't winter without Starbucks white peppermint mochas, its just plain and simple.
